I am a member of the concert choir here at Eau Claire, and this semester we are singing this song- Alleluia, by Eric Whitacre, an incredible composer. This song only repeats one word over and over- yep, you guessed it, alleluia. No matter what you are doing right now, I encourage you to press play on this video, and listen. It is without a doubt one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard and will have the privilege to sing. So give it a listen.

Happy December, everyone! This song is really hitting me today, so I challenge you to give it a listen. It's really worth it. ....... so though I tremble in the darkness in the cold and frozen snow I am grateful for winter for the winter comes to show that our trouble's never over and work our work is never done but with the turning of the season we will always see the sun i like to think that if our hearts were music boxes, playing little songs, that this would be the song that comes out of mine. enjoy. Sometimes, there's hard stuff. Sometimes, there's tricky stuff. Sometimes, there's hurtful stuff. But all the time, there's beautiful stuff. All the time, there's love. And joy. And hope. We just gotta dig for it. This song sings of it. Look up the lyrics. They're nothing but true. So this is my song for today, but not just today. Tomorrow, and forever. "And let go of all we cannot hold onto, for the hope beyond the blue." --Also, thank goodness (or rather, thank Jesus) for my little light, Alexi.
She is truly my little light, and her heart just really gets to me in the most beautiful way. She points me to the light, always, without even trying. Jesus made her so very well. this is a great song. i've been listening to it a lot lately. enjoy. This past weekend, my friends Coral, Isaac, Lorne and I (and Alexi) took a little road trip up to the Twin Cities to hear this exceptional band. I want to tell you about them. Rend Collective Experiment is an Christian folk band of Irish musicians, and they are FABULOUS. Their music makes you come alive. (I have to say, I am a little bit partial to Irish music- I'm easily swept away in it.) And they have this incredible knack for having tons and tons of energy, all the time. At least, on stage they do. It's liberating. At the end of the concert, they had us "all put an arm around our neighbor" and sing with them. I kid you not- my face hurt at the end from smiling so much. There I was, in between two of my closest friends, in a room with hundreds of strangers, singing and listening to this music and praising God at the same time. If you ever have a chance to see Rend Collective Experiment, don't pass it up. For now, listen to this: I pray light will leak |
